Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor along with other The Archies cast were seen serving food to people in Mumbai’s high-end restaurant on Independence Day. The video went viral on social media and netizens trolled them for serving food to the rich.
On Tuesday, The Archies cast was seen serving Independence Day lunch to the people for ‘good cause’ in Mumbai. Except for Khushi Kapoor and Aditi Dot, The cast was seen twinning in white. Viral Bhayani shared the video of The Archies cast serving food. In the video, Suhana Khan and Khushi can be seen smiling as served lunch with hands covered with gloves.
Netizens however were unhappy with the cast serving food at a restaurant to ‘rich and healthy’ people. One of the comments read, “Should’ve done it at some orphanage. The healthy and the riches are being fed, not the needy and poor. Guess all this drama is to promote “Archies”.” Another comment read, “Paise walo ko khilane me kya khilana…….. Khilana
ho toh gareebo ko khilaao (What is there in feeding the rich, feed the poor if you want to).” Another user wrote, “this is promoting themselves Bollywood does nothing for free.” Another comment read, “What a drama!” Another wrote, “Amir log Amir logo ko serve karte hue (rich people serving the rich).”
Helmed by Zoya Akhtar, The Archies is an upcoming teen-musical comedy film adapted from the American comic book series The Archies. Produced by Tiger Baby Productions, the movie stars Suhana Khan as Veronica Lodge, Vedang Raina as Reggie Mantle, Khushi Kapoor as Betty Cooper, Mihir Ahuja as Jughead, Yuvraj Menda as Dilton Doiley and Agastya Nanda as Archie Andrews.
The movie is scheduled to release on November 24 on Netflix and the cast is currently busy in the promotions. On setting the storyline of The Archies, Zoya Akhtar earlier said in an interview with Film Companion, “When I was asked to adapt this, I didn’t want to do a modern take. Firstly, Riverdale has done it. Secondly, it’s not my experience of Archies. My experience of Archies is a simpler time, a more innocent time, a gentler time, where less is more. I wanted to go back to that. I wanted to keep the essence of the comic and find a way for it to resonate with young adults today.”
